What a way to start a tale. Ashley Sullivan, daughter of the foreman Ken Sullivan, had been Jake Crenshaw's shadow all of her short life.
His parents, Joe and Gail Crenshaw love to have a barbaque party for any good occasion. They threw a party for Ashley's sixteenth birthday. She wanted Jake, a young man of 24 years, to notice her as a woman? She's gotta be kidding.

She wanted a birthday kiss and got a bit enthuseastic and Jake's body really embarressed him. How could he feel this way about a kid?
Then followed an nine year separation. Jake took over running the large ranch and Crenshaw holdings. And Ashley went to college and became a veterinarian.

Now we find 33 year old Jake playing poker when his cousin Jordan came looking for him. Jordan Crenshaw runs a horse breeding operation on the Crenshaw ranch until he can get his barn built.
Oh boy, Jordan interrupts Jake's game to tell him that his ex-wife, Tiffany has shown up at the ranch.

For Jake and his brothers, Jared, Jude and Jason being gorgeous blue eyed blonds the covers don't depict it.

Anyway, Tiffany finally gets around to informing Jake that he is a father of a little three year old daughter, Heather. She is a little doll.
Tiffany found out that she was pregnant after the divorce.

Jake needs help, he doesn't know what to do with a little girl. So he calls on his one-time friend Ashley for help.
Oops! she finds the attraction still there at 25. She had thought that she had put the attraction behind her. [finally someone who hasn't slept around].

She falls for Heather, and finds she is still in love with Jake - and the misunderstandings just keep coming.

You will love the Crenshaw family, their relationships to one another, and Ashley finally learning to understand Jake.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- M - great family tale.

Little shadow has grown up

Here's the story. Ashley sullivan tagged after her 'hero' Jake Crenshaw for yrs. Years later Jake got married (to another woman of course), divorced & became a 'surprised' overnight daddy! Asked Ashley for help with his daughter and one look at Ashley realised that his little shadow has finally grown up. I don't understand why he rejected her at the first place (reasons given not good enough/believable in my opinion) but I loved reading the book anyway. It's enjoyable & worth the money spent (as good as the 2nd book, Caught In The Crossfire).

An Interesting Story

An interesting story but unfortunately too many ends were left hanging. To get some characters neatly out of the way, the reader simply hears that they had died or they were killed or killed self.
One unexpected twist towards the end of story was somewhat surprising, but another big one left the reader with a frown on face. However the story was fast moving...quite a thumb turner.

Incredibly well written and easy to understand

Incredibly well written and easy to understand, this book covers everything you need to get up to speed with VR development. It includes a primer on graphic development and all the technology that has come together to make VR happen. From the perspective of someone who has been active in the VR space for the last year, I can say that this book does an amazing job laying down all the foundations of VR development. I passed a copy on to my programmers who are more seasoned in VR dev and even they were able to get value out of it as well. Highly recommended for anyone interested in VR.

Although this unauthorized book "was not prepared, licensed, approved, or endorsed by any entity involved in creating or producing" The Simpsons, Canadian journalist Turner embarks on an encyclopedic exposition of the show's episodes, catchphrases, characters, cultural impact, social commentary, themes and influences. In 1987, 33-year-old cartoonist Matt Groening devised the dysfunctional family during a 15-minute wait before pitching the concept to producer James L. Brooks. Short segments on Fox's Tracey Ullman Show escalated into the full series in 1989–1990, with accolades and awards piling up during the following 15 years. Turner flavors his straightforward Simpsons study with footnotes and facts on everything from Ayn Rand and Columbine to Y2K and Yeats. Unraveling and analyzing plot threads, he views the series as "more anti-authoritarian by far than almost anything else that's ever aired in prime time," and he praises it as a "cultural institution" comparable to the Beatles. Pop Culture and The Simpsons - Great Book with Semi-Serious Undertones

Perfect book that reflects on the seemingly symbiotic relationship between pop culture and The Simpsons. The author reviews the various characters and situations from the show which reflect the issues of the day in many surprising ways. It gives a view on The Simpsons that most basic viewers never notice. The Simpsons is a lot deeper than you'd imagine and more intricate than only one viewing can show you. Adn in turn, as 'The Simpsons' were a reflection of society, society is increasingly a partial reflection of 'The Simpsons'. Within the pages of this book you can really see how much 'The Simpsons' is a perfect , albeit odd, view of today's realities. The book shows how 'The Simpsons' is a smart show that's funny for everyone from dumb to Einstein. (And based on that bit of horrible English, I'm moving towards the former)Definitely a great pick for a serious Simpsons Fan.

Now if they would just hurry and make that movie they've always talked about...

Excellent book

This is one of my favorite books that I have purchased. The author does an excellent job of comparing either an episode or a character to the subject that he is comparing it to. He adds quotes from the show in his writing that helps one to enjoy reading this book. If you are a fan of the show I am sure that you'll enjoy this book.

Simpson fan fest

This is easily one of the most entertaining audiobooks I have listened to in a long time. The book is filled with quotes from the Simpson, and the narrator does great Simpson impersonations. The narrative has a seemingly endless number of anecdotes from Simpson's episodes (all referenced by episode number.) To a fan of the show, these references bring back fond memories. The book excels when it operates as a Simpsons fan companion.

Unfortunately, it falls flat when it tries to dig deeper. The arguments come across as those from a serious fan of the show trying to justify it's importance by placing it in external paradigms. Many of the arguments could easily be applied to just about any other aspect of pop culture. (The Fruit Loops Generation?) The insight that pop culture has become a strong identifying factor in a fragmenting society is interesting, but by no means original. The strange irony is that a corporate entity is needed to provide a unifying force for a youth culture rebelling against the corporatism of society. For a Simpsons fan like the author, Simpsons serves as that force, and the thesis of this book will apply. However, for others, including those that have a shared interest in the Simpsons and other things, the argument falls flat.

Top 5 trading book for all types of traders

I have a list of books on trading and this was on the bottom. I wish I put it on the top of the list.

I had set-ups, technicals and fundamental theories I had been using in the market, but had only losses and torn out hair to report. I could indicate where I went wrong in each trade, but still no consistency. After reading this book, I made some adjustments on my strategy and my approach. It has made all the difference. Thank you Mark for sharing your knowledge this is definitely a top 10 book of all time for me!

If you are looking for a fresh perspective because for some reason all the set ups and technicals aren't working....check this book out it might be the missing piece to the puzzle.

Trading In The Zone Helps Me Stay In The Zone

Great book by Douglas. The focus of this text is on the psychological tug of war that takes place in the minds of amateur traders, which can lead to financial loss. The author discusses how fear and hope can interfere with the trading process as well, particularly when a trader's perception of a trade is fixated on a desired certainty of profit. The main concept presented by the book is that a consistently successful trader, trades based solely by keeping the favor of probability on his side with a good edge based on objective analysis which would lead one to either enter, exit, or not place a trade based on a set of rules, while ignoring any mental conflicts within the trader which are only perceived as related to the trade but not truthfully related. The net result that the author aims to convey to the reader is similar to that of a casino generating profit off of run of gamblers, which the majority of unskilled traders on the stock market effectively are. The technique provided here is sound as well as testable by a method also provided in the book. However, the book is written with the assumption that the reader already has a fully functioning knowledge of market fundamentals, technical analysis, patterns, charts, etc. This is not a weakness in the psychological material presented, just a heads up to any traders looking for said other material here. This book is all about getting to know yourself, your own worst enemy and the only true cause of your losses and gains. It is a unique subject, but a necessary one for any serious trader.
